one week to go
Well, seeing as how I only have exactly six days left here in Korea this might very well be my last post from this side of the world. But...I have a lot more to say than I have time for right now (since I have class in about ten minutes) so I will most likely be continuing this later today or tomorrow.
As of right now my packing is almost finished and I've already taken the huge tray of change that I've collected over this past year and cashed it in at the bank (75,000 won!). I've also started "last" classes, like how today was my last ever Song & Chant class...thank goodness since that was my least favorite of all of them. I've also started telling my students that I'm leaving, but they haven't quite figured out that I'm not leaving right now, but rather next week so they keep running around after me and holding onto me and they get very suspicious when I have my purse in hand to go anywhere, like I'm going to be hopping on a plane in the next ten minutes. Some of them seem visibly upset whereas others don't quite understand what I've said about it. In any case they'll all know soon enough come next Tuesday.
Tomorrow night my supervisor Julia & the other Korean kindergarten teachers are taking me out to dinner and then I think my director & the other foreign teachers want to go out Monday night. That doesn't leave me many nights free to pack and clean, but I'll get it done somehow. So yeah, my time here is winding down and I'm getting all the loose ends tied up one by one. I still can't believe the end came so fast...
